During a small, lovely Christmas celebration today, accompanied by Deputy Head of Nursing Indra-Isabel Zessin and Leonie Stegemann, responsible for project inquiries and donations, I had the pleasure of presenting my first donation to this children's hospice. After a very warm welcome and a shared lunch (delicious potato soup), it was a great honor to read a short Christmas story to some of the children present and to hand out small gifts. I was especially delighted to receive the flag for my Vespa, which will accompany me on my future tours. When a child is critically ill, the entire family's world collapses. In children's hospice care, we offer them relief, security, and a space for normalcy. Since I couldn't be there in person, the hospice team sent me a short thank-you note. The silbermoewe2 project continues. Löwenherz Lüneburg Outpatient Children's Hospice Support Center On December 19, 2024, I was able to include the Löwenherz children's hospice base in Lüneburg in my support project, as I unfortunately had to discontinue contact with Adreas Huss in Norway. Political reasons unfortunately made the opening of the completed children's hospice no longer possible. For the €1,000 donation to the Dudenhofen children's hospice near Mannheim, I prepared a small Plexiglas container for the donation and a short video for you to confirm. I was a little excited, as it's always a wonderful opportunity to hand over your donations. On December 6, 2024, I was able to visit the Sterntaler children's hospice in Dudenhofen near Mannheim again. During this visit, I was able to hand over €1,000 of your incredible donations. Für den guten Zweck mit der Vespa auf Spendentour Silver Gull 2 The Silver Seagull 2 found its way to me thanks to a recommendation from the president of the Lüneburg Vespa Club (Olaf Sander). Olaf told me that a Vespa, and the beautiful tours it offers, is a great alternative to motorcycling. After buying the Vespa GTS 300 Racing Sixties, my first big tour with Olaf was the trip to the Vespa Alp Days 2022 in Zell am See. The tour was entirely on roads, avoiding highways, and turned out to be a wonderful ride on the new Vespa. I discovered that even a good 1,200 km on the Vespa GTS is very relaxed and enjoyable. So, the replacement for the Silver Seagull 1 was found :-). Motivation The reason for my motivation The idea originated during the farewell tour of the Silver Gull 1. At that time, I decided to give up motorcycling (BMW R 1200 GS Adventure) and enjoyed a wonderful farewell tour to the Dolomites, Lake Garda, via Milan, into Switzerland, through the Allgäu region and eastern Germany, and back home. The idea came to me to raise some money for a good cause during the tour. Upon my return, I was able to donate €850 to the Sternenbrücke Children's Hospice in Hamburg. This desire to involve others in my projects through fundraising appeals somehow intensified. Since I didn't want to give up motorized two-wheelers entirely, the Vespa GTS 300 Racing Sixties (Silver Gull 2) entered my life and will accompany me on my future endeavors. At the same time, I lead a relatively secure and comfortable life and would like to contribute something positive to people in different circumstances, even if it's just a small gesture. Donations will be processed through a bank and a system specifically developed for this purpose, ensuring maximum transparency for donors regarding the whereabouts and use of their donations. I am currently preparing for this and hope to achieve the greatest possible trust and willingness to donate. From the starting point to the North Cape and back, supporting me should be easy and accessible to everyone interested. Every donation is appreciated and will be rewarded with an activity yet to be determined. I will proactively approach individuals and companies both during the planning phase and throughout the tour. It is crucial to understand that every cent donated or sponsored will be divided equally among five children's hospices; I will personally cover all other expenses. Current problems should also be mentioned. My current plans to allow companies and private individuals to act as potential donors or sponsors present some hurdles. Unfortunately, it's not so easy to accept donations and potentially forward them later to the hospices in Germany, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden that are intended to benefit. As a private individual, I'm not permitted to issue donation receipts, which is why any financial support can only be officially recorded as a gift. However, this shouldn't be too much of a problem overall, and I'm already working to build the necessary trust.
