The silbermoewe2 is actually a Vespa GTS 300 Racing Sixties. However, over the course of the project, it became more and more of an eye-catcher ;-) Well, if I want to use it to raise money for the children's hospice, it has to stand out somehow. Motivation The reason for my motivation The idea originated during the farewell tour of the Silver Gull 1. At that time, I decided to give up motorcycling (BMW R 1200 GS Adventure) and enjoyed a wonderful farewell tour to the Dolomites, Lake Garda, via Milan, into Switzerland, through the Allgäu region and eastern Germany, and back home. The idea came to me to raise some money for a good cause during the tour. Upon my return, I was able to donate €850 to the Sternenbrücke Children's Hospice in Hamburg. This desire to involve others in my projects through fundraising appeals somehow intensified. Since I didn't want to give up motorized two-wheelers entirely, the Vespa GTS 300 Racing Sixties (Silver Gull 2) entered my life and will accompany me on my future endeavors. At the same time, I lead a relatively secure and comfortable life and would like to contribute something positive to people in different circumstances, even if it's just a small gesture. Für den guten Zweck mit der Vespa auf Spendentour I'd like to briefly introduce myself. The name came about as part of a family gathering in which ideas and suggestions could be brought forward. My grandson Jenri was then allowed to make the selection by drawing lots. There were 24 suggestions in total, including Kackbratze, Mumsel, GinTonic, egg cooker, thunder beam and other funny terms, including the herring gull. In the end it was the herring gull, the winner got an ice cream voucher ;-), so this topic is also known. This picture was taken when I visited the INTERMOT motorcycle show in Cologne in October 2022. I had planned to look for new clothing for my tours at the show. On Sunday, after attending Mass at Cologne Cathedral, I found this memorial plaque dedicated to Freya von Moltke nearby, which seemed fitting for my project. Olaf told me that a Vespa, and the beautiful tours it offers, is a great alternative to motorcycling. After buying the Vespa GTS 300 Racing Sixties, my first big tour with Olaf was the trip to the Vespa Alp Days 2022 in Zell am See. The tour was entirely on roads, avoiding highways, and turned out to be a wonderful ride on the new Vespa. I discovered that even a good 1,200 km on the Vespa GTS is very relaxed and enjoyable. So, the replacement for the Silver Seagull 1 was found :-).
